How does Berocca work?

Berocca Energy is a specially formulated combination of high dose B complex vitamins plus vitamin C and essential minerals, calcium, magnesium and zinc, which work to support your mental sharpness and physical energy throughout the day.

Berocca Boost additionally contains caffeine and guarana which help improve your alertness and concentration – giving you an additional kick, when needed.

Berocca Sport contains B vitamins and electrolytes to help keep you hydrated before and during your workout.

Berocca Immune Daily Defence contains high-strength Vitamin C, Vitamin D and zinc to support immune system health.

Berocca Mind is formulated with Extract of Spanish Sage plus 12 vitamins and minerals to support mental alertness, focus and memory.

Remember to always read the label and follow the directions for use. Vitamin and mineral supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet.

How many calories are there in Berocca?

Berocca contains negligible calories:

Berocca Energy and Berocca Boost products each contain approximately 6-8 kcal per tablet.
Berocca Sport contains less than 10 calories per sachet.

Berocca Energy Effervescent Original Berry, Orange and Mango & Orange tastes different now. Did you change the flavour and, if so, why?

We have made several small changes to the Berocca Energy. The most notable is the replacement of Aspartame with Sucralose and the removal of artificial colours. This may result in a small difference in the taste.

Is Berocca Energy good for you?

Berocca Energy Effervescent Original Berry, Orange and Mango & Orange is formulated with 12 essential vitamins and minerals to help maintain energy levels throughout the day. It does not contain any added artificial colours or aspartame and is a great addition to a healthy and balanced diet.

Can I take Berocca Energy every day?

Berocca Energy is suitable for daily use throughout the year. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

It is important to note that vitamin and mineral supplements such as Berocca are not a replacement for a healthy and balanced diet.

Can I take more than one tablet a day?

The recommended daily intake for Berocca Energy, Berocca Boost, Berocca Immune Daily Defence or Berocca Mind is maximum one tablet per day. The recommended daily intake for Berocca Sport is one sachet per day. Berocca is suitable and recommended for daily use.

Can I take different Berocca products together?

Berocca products should not be taken together. The Berocca products are designed to be taken on their own based on the quantities of various vitamins and minerals in each formulation.

How do you take Berocca?

Berocca Energy, Berocca Boost, Berocca Immune Daily Defence or Berocca Mind effervescent tablets: add 1 tablet to a glass or bottle of water and let it dissolve for a great tasting and refreshing drink. Maximum once per day.

Berocca Mind is also available in a film coated tablet which may be taken 1 tablet per day.

Berocca Orange and Original Berry are also available in a handy Twist’N’Go format for a great tasting drink.

Berocca Sport: Add one sachet into a water bottle or glass, leave it to dissolve and drink on your workout.

Are there any safety issues associated with taking Berocca?

We are not aware of any safety issues specific to any of the Berocca formulations. The suggested daily intake for Berocca Energy, Berocca Boost, Berocca Immune Daily Defence or Berocca Mind is one tablet per day. The suggested daily intake for Berocca Sport is one sachet per day.

Berocca Boost contain aspartame. Phenylketonurics are warned that these products contain phenylalanine (from aspartame).
Each Berocca Energy tablet contains anywhere between 271- 273mg of sodium, and Berocca Boost contain 341 mg sodium per tablet, which should be taken into account by those on a low sodium diet.
Berocca Raspberry Blackcurrant and Boost contain tabletting aids, artificial sweeteners, colours and flavouring.
Berocca Boost contain sulfites.
Berocca Effervescent Original Berry, Orange, Mango & Orange and Raspberry Blackcurrant contain sucralose.
Vitamin and mineral supplements should not replace a balanced diet.
Berocca Immune Daily Defence tablets contain 322-324 mg sodium and Berocca Mind contains 284 mg sodium.
Berocca Immune Daily Defence contains sulfites, sucralose and isomalt. Also contains tabletting aids, artificial sweeteners, colours and flavours. Berocca Immune Daily Defence Blackcurrant flavour also contains sorbitol.
Berocca Mind Effervescent tablets contain sulfites, sucralose, sorbitol and isomalt. Also contains tabletting aids, artificial sweeteners and flavours. Berocca Mind Mixed berries flavour also contains colours.

Please consult with your healthcare professional before taking Berocca if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Berocca Energy, Berocca Sport and Berocca Immune Daily Defence are suitable for adults and children 12 years and over. Berocca Mind is indicated for adults 18 years and over only.

Berocca Boost is indicated for adults only. It contains 75 mg total caffeine per tablet. A cup of instant coffee contains approximately 80 mg of caffeine. Caffeine intake more than 200 mg per day is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Limit the use of caffeine-containing products (including tea and coffee) when taking this product. Caffeine interacts with enzyme CYP1A2 in the liver. Consult your health professional before taking with other medicines.

Why does Berocca make my urine change colour?

Berocca products contain vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Like all B vitamins, B2 is water-soluble so your body takes what it needs and discards the rest. The presence of vitamin B2 in your urine can result in a more intense colour.

This is not a cause for any concern.

Can I use Berocca during pregnancy/whilst breastfeeding?

Berocca is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. This is due to the complex nutritional needs of pregnant and breastfeeding women and Berocca has not been specifically formulated for use as a pre/post-natal supplement. We recommend that you talk to your healthcare professional about vitamin and mineral supplements.

Is Berocca suitable for children?

Berocca Energy, Berocca Sport and Berocca Immune Daily Defence are suitable for adults and children 12 years and over.
Berocca Boost and Berocca Mind are only suitable for adults 18 years and over.

Does Berocca contain aspartame?

Berocca Boost contain aspartame. Phenylketonurics are warned that these products contain phenylalanine.

Always read the label. Aspartame is permitted as a sweetener by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). However, if you would prefer to enjoy Berocca products formulated without aspartame, then we suggest you try Berocca Original Berry, Orange, Mango & Orange or Raspberry Blackcurrant effervescent tablets. The Berocca Immune Daily Defence and Berocca Mind Effervescent range are also formulated without aspartame.

All ingredients in our products, including sweeteners, are tightly regulated and their safety has been rigorously assessed.

Does Berocca contain salt?

The sodium in Berocca’s effervescent tablets comes mainly in the form of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate which are used to create the well-known “Berocca fizz”. These ingredients are used in almost all effervescent tablets. Sodium bicarbonate is also commonly used as a raising ingredient in baking and is also known as “baking soda” or “bread soda”.

Berocca Energy effervescent tablets each contain 271–273 mg of sodium. Berocca Boost contains 341 mg sodium per tablet. Berocca Sport contains 0.2mg of sodium per sachet. Berocca Immune Daily Defence tablets contain 322-324 mg sodium and Berocca Mind contains 284 mg sodium.
